About us

The W.E.L.L.S. After School Program is a "safe haven" where students can access expanded learning opportunities and

integrated education, health, social services, and cultural programs during out-of-school hours. 


To enroll, a completed registration packet is required from all students.  They are available in the main office (rm. 102).

Breakfast Club:  Mon. to Fri. at 8:30-9 a.m. in Wellness Center.  As the saying goes "The early bird catches the worm.." Students who arrive early receive a free breakfast meal!

Lunch:  Mon. to Fri. at Lunch in Room 107.  Invite your friends to the new kick-it lunch spot, play pool, foosball, ping pong, board games, video games, and much more! Computers and desks are available for those who'd rather work on classwork.   

6th Period Edgenuity:  Mon. to Fri. at 2-5 p.m. (Wed. 1-4 p.m.) in Room 303/301.  Students can earn 10-20 credits (per quarter) toward graduation.  It covers health, ELA, science, and social sciences.  (Mandatory: Tuesday & Thursday in room 301)

Academic Hustle: Mon. to Fri. at 2-5 p.m. (Wed. 1-4 p.m.) in Room 303. Students can receive academic support, study, and work on classwork, field studies, and college & career prep.

WELLS Lounge: Mon. to Fri. at 2-5 p.m. (Wed. 1-4 p.m.) in Room 303.  A safe and supportive environment where students can socialize, play games, study, and eat. 

Weight Room: Mon. to Fri. at 2:00-3:15 p.m. in the Fitness Room.  An opportunity for students to get in shape and learn about fitness.

College & Career: Mon. at 2:15-3:45 p.m. in Room 405.  Students are offered support in areas of choosing a suitable career, college, and financial aid (2.5 credits).

Job Ready: Tues. & Thurs. at 2:15-3:30 p.m. in Room 303.  Students receive assistance in job readiness and the job application process from a series of workshops that run in 2 cycles per quarter (2.5 credits).

Field Study Wednesdays:  Wed. at 1:15-3:00 p.m. in Room 303.  An opportunity for students to watch educational films, and to complete their field studies off-campus.  *Students must bring the following on field trips:  High school ID, ASP field trip form, and MUNI fare or pass. 

CAHSEE Bootcamp: Details TBA. This prep class is for students who have not passed both the Math and English Language Arts portions of the California High School Exit Exam, a requirement for earning a High School Diploma.

ASP Collaboration with John O'Connell:  1 Fri. a month.  Students have the opportunity to hang with John O'Connell students on field trips to the movie theatre and play sports.  Stay tuned for announcements!
